Rangers could make another transfer for a centre-back as soon as next week, according to Mark Warburton.
Our manager was talking to Sky Sports, and thankfully after Clint Hill and Rob Kiernan's horrow-show in the 3-1 defeat to Burnley, said that he was hopeful of getting a new defender in before the season proper kicks off against Hamilton Academical on Saturday.
"There are Burnley players rated £25m and we can't pay that kind of money. It's a smaller talent pool but we know what we want and if we can get it, we'll make the move.
"I hope to get something done before next Saturday. We are working on it."
Well, that's something of a relief. Kiernan has looked desperately out of sorts so far, and Hill's display today did little to convince us that he's the man to keep it all together. Danny Wilson is still probably our best centre-back right now, but that's not exactly saying much...
We’ll let you know any names as soon as we get more. Keep track of the latest stories on our Facebook page:
