Hamilton 1-4 Rangers: Player ratings as Gers struggle on road again

An extremely flattering scoreline to say the least.

Well, that was unexpected. After a pretty dreadful performance, Rangers looked to have chucked the game away only to somehow come away with an extremely flattering 4-1 win. Here’s how our boys rated...

Allan McGregor 7

Made a couple of decent saves, and spent most of the game going completely tonto at his hapless centre-backs.

James Tavernier 7

Didn’t get too much going but was positive, made no errors and converted a high-pressure penalty.

Nikola Katic 3

Oh my god, Niko, what’s happened? Harshly dropped by Gerrard on previous occasions but was deservedly hooked today after an utter shitshow. Probably not going to be in the team for a while now.

Connor Goldson 5

Not much better - not as many errors as Katic, but poor communication with his partner and wasn’t commanding enough in defence.

Andy Halliday 5

Didn’t do too much wrong but a lot came from his side. Mediocre in both directions.

Jordan Rossiter 6

Could not impose any authority on the game but was reasonable in his defensive work.

Lassana Coulibaly 5

Probably his worst game in a Rangers shirt. Hasn’t shown anything like his early season form since his injury and should probably have a wee spell out of the team.

Ovie Ejaria 5

Stayed on the pitch purely due to a lack of alternatives. Back to how he started the season - poorly, and constantly slowing the game down and dwelling on the ball.

Daniel Candeias 6

Couldn’t really get much going at all. The usual solid shift otherwise.

Ryan Kent 7

Rangers were unable to get the ball on the deck for Kent to run at Hamilton’s defence, but he scored a fine goal and worked hard.

Alfredo Morelos 7

Isolated for most of the game but won a penalty and scored a fine goal to round off the game.

Scott Arfield 8

Traditionally player ratings are only awarded to people who actually played in the match, but we don’t play by the rules here at GTBFO. Has gone under the radar somewhat since his move to Ibrox, but today showed how badly he was missed.

Had about three touches between the lot of them.
