Carlos Peña close to finalising move to Rangers from Mexican champions Chivas

As we first told you last week, Mexican midfielder Carlos Peña is on the brink of signing a three-year deal with Rangers ahead of the club’s return to European football next month. Peña, who has just returned to Mexican champions Chivas after a loan spell with Club León, is expected in Glasgow to complete a medical in the next few days. Subject to the 27-year-old be granted a work permit, he could even report to Auchenhowie for preseason training on June 5th.

Chivas manager Matias Almeyda has confirmed at a press conference in Guadalajara the transfer is "almost complete" and Peña’s imminent arrival has excited fans on social media.

Peña is set to be joined in the next few days by Bruno Alves, who arrived in Glasgow earlier today to complete a medical ahead of signing and Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack.
