Rangers have made their first signing of the January transfer window, and it looks like it will be Bournemouth midfielder Emerson Hyndman, according to The Scottish Sun.
Hyndman, a USA youth international, is a highly-rated youngster with an excellent first touch and range of passing that can operate in a 2 or 3-man midfield, usually as a deeper-lying playmaker. He has, however, often struggled due to his limited physical stature.
Perhaps this is instead of one of our other targets, but it seems obvious to GTBFO that the position we most desperately need to acquire in this window is a defensive midfielder to compensate for Jordan Rossiter's awful fitness record. The fact that our moves have been Jon Toral, Jota and now Hyndman don't exactly bode well that Mark Warburton recognises what the team's problems are.
There's been no official confirmation from the club yet, but we'll let you know when it happens. Toral is expected to join too, likely at the start of next week. We'll keep you posted on that too. Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date.
