1pm UPDATE: It’s now in the Top 3 on iTunes and looks like it might actually have a chance of being Christmas number one.
After ringing out for 90 minutes on Friday night against Hamilton, Rangers fans have launched a cheeky bid to get The Dave Clark Five’s "Glad All Over" to the top of the charts over Christmas. Despite being barely over 24 hours old the campaign has already cracked the Top 20 on iTunes and is still climbing.
Just like Garner, the song has quickly became a favourite amongst the Rangers support with countless pub jukeboxes across Scotland blaring it out for the first time in a number of years.
The original, which was released in late 1963, was only outsold by The Beatles’ "Can’t Buy Me Love" across the entire of 1964.
Fans can buy the song here via iTunes
If anyone from DC5 (or their management) are wondering where to send the royalties here’s your man:
Right let's get the song behind the Joey Garner song - Glad All Over -The Dave Clark Five to knock Green Brigade out the top 20, buy & RT
