Rangers are about to seal moves for Liverpool’s Harry Wilson and Fenerbahce’s Martin Skrtel, according to the Scottish Sun.

The news comes from the usually well-connected Andy Devlin, so we’d have no reason to doubt it.

Wilson has just had an excellent spell at Hull City in the English Championship and looks like he’ll be a superb extra option to have on the flanks and for the number 10 spot. While there’s essentially zero chance of getting a permanent deal here - at least currently - it’s a free, desperately-needed option to go with Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeias.

Skrtel, meanwhile, will cost a couple of million, and it seems a lot to pay for an ageing defender. While we wouldn’t be averse to paying the money if he was guaranteed to be a huge upgrade, we fear that he might just turn out to be more or less identical to Bruno Alves. Still unsure about that one.
