Rangers to make £4m striker the first signing of the Gerrard era?

Oliver McBurnie has been linked to Rangers for a while, but it could now happen this summer.

Rangers have been linked with signing die-hard bear Oliver McBurnie for a while now, but The Sun are now reporting that Steven Gerrard will pay £4m tomake the Swansea striker his first signing.

While McBurnie has scored plenty of goals in his career, he’s not really consistently played at a top level. He has, however, managed a decent return for a bad Barnsley side in his loan spell at the Championship club this season.

While McBurnie is a huge Rangers fan, provides more a physical presence and is young and still can imrpove, however, £4m seems a lot of money for the striker. There will likely be plenty of Championship clubs linked who could pay more than us, but McBurnie’s desire to move to his boyhood club would surely play in our favour if several teams came in for him.

We’d maybe be slightly surprised were we to spend so much on someone who isn’t that proven, but we may be spending quite a lot this summer, so we’ll see...
