Dave King gives update on managerial search

It’s renewal time!

It’s coming towards the end of the season, and you know what that means - the Queen, the Masons, GCHQ, the Illuminati, Police Scotland, the SFA, the MSM, George Soros and other members of the vast pro-Rangers global conspiracy are going into overdrive to punt season tickets.

Dave King hasn’t partaken in his traditional shoot week ahead of a big Old Firm just yet, although he has been discussing a new manager today, in which he appeared to shoot down any prospect of Graeme Murty extending his stay in the dugout beyond the end of the season.

Much has been made over King appearing to “throw Murty under the bus” by effectively giving him his notice days before a cup semi-final, but if King is doing that, it’s pretty safe to assume that he’s already informed Murty of that decision. Stories to that end were already flying around last week to begin with.

So, what this means exactly is anyone’s guess. Kremlinology experts might choose to read into the “immediate success” line as proof that the board will go for a more proven manager than the likes of Pedro Caixinha (or perhaps even somebody seen as a project like De Boer), but ask us to suggest who that might be and we’d be pretty stumped.
