After one season at Ibrox, Joe Garner has joined Ipswich for an undisclosed fee, believed to be close to £1m, on a three-year contract. Garner moved to Ibrox last August for £1.8m but struggled to meet expectations in a struggling side and was deemed surplus to requirements under Pedro Caixinha for the coming season.

The 29-year-old scored 10 goals in 34 appearances during his time at Ibrox after moving from Preston but with Eduardo Herrera and Alfredo Morelos set to sign up at Ibrox, the striker was allowed to move on and returns to England’s second tier. Garner scored his first goal in the 5-1 defeat to Celtic but is likely to be remembered for slide tackling a Christmas tree and causing a comical rift between Rangers fans and Little Mix fans as they went head-to-head for the Christmas number one slot.
