Pedro Caixinha's assistant will be chosen by club - but unveiling could be delayed

An idea that always works brilliantly.

Rangers will decide separately who to appoint as assistant to Pedro Caixinha, rather than having him select his own man, according to Keith Jackson of the Daily Record.

There's no speculation on who that might be, although it seems that Caixinha prefers to do things this way anyway - unlike many managers, he doesn't have one assistant in tow wherever he goes around the world.

Whether he'll be bringing in any coaching staff at all, in fact, remains to be seen. Rangers are fairly light in that department as it is, so some additions in the summer might be likely.

In other news, Caixinha didn't make his intended overnight flight tonight, as he had to sign more papers to terminate his contract in Qatar. Whether this will delay his unveiling isn't yet clear - he'll probably still be in Glasgow for tomorrow, but possibly not until later on.
