Andy Halliday ruled out for a month with hamstring injury

A slight dampener

Andy Halliday will miss the first month of Pedro Caixinha's reign with a hamstring injury.

The midfielder had been absent from recent fixtures, but it's not clear whether it was the effects of the injury or whether he'd simply been dropped for poor form.

We've defended Halliday against some ill-deserved stick plenty of times this season. Firstly against the "he gets away with it because he's a bear" line of attack when literally everybody has bemoaned his poor form. And secondly because he's been asked to play out of position in a role he just doesn't have the skillset for.

True, we have looked better without him in the past couple of games. But it's common to see previous lost causes rejuvenated under a new manager, so it would've been interesting to see what Caixinha might have gotten out of him. Hopefully we will see, but we might have to wait a while longer.
