After seeing off Queen of the South on Tuesday night to advance to the semi-final of the Betfred Cup, Rangers have been drawn against Celtic with the winner progressing to face Aberdeen or Morton in the final.

Celtic made it through to the semi-final with a 2-0 win over Alloa Athletic at Celtic Park while Aberdeen and Morton saw off St. Johnstone and Dundee United respectively.

The Old Firm have met 48 times in the League Cup since it’s inception in 1947 with Rangers coming out victors in exactly half of them. Two have been drawn and Celtic have won 22. They last met in the semi-final in 2014/15 when Kenny McDowall’s side lost 2-0.

Both semi-finals will be played on the weekend of October 22/23.
