Josh Windass is a wanted man by both Newcastle United and Derby, as soon as the January transfer window, according to the Sun.
This comes as a bit of a shock, since Windass has of course only just joined the club and has shown glimpses of talent in his 12 appearances, but has hardly set Ibrox alight. Despite that, Windass was already very highly-rated and well-scouted when he left England, widely regarded as one of the gems of the lower leagues. Nonetheless, the timing of such a move still seems very odd.
It's hard to even say how much would be a good price for him - we've only had brief glances at his potential, and since we basically got him for nothing, it's hard to see what a reasonable asking price could be.
We're highly skeptical about this one, but we'll keep an eye on it nonetheless. Stay tuned for any further developments.
