Former Rangers defender Daniel Prodan has died at the age of 44. Prodan, who joined Rangers for £2.2m from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in 1998, never made a competitive appearance in his three years in Glasgow.
The Romanian defender was capped 54 times by his national team in a career that also saw stints with Steaua & National Bucharest before injury forced him to hang up his boots aged 30.
It has been reported in Romanian media that Prodan suffered a heart attack.
