Rangers Transfer News: Could Hibs have put the Michael O'Halloran deal back on?

Michael O'Halloran's transfer to Rangers looked dead, but St Johnstone's defeat in the League Cup semi-final could revive it.

You may have missed it after the euphoria at Ibrox, but the other game taking place today was Hibs against St. Johnstone in the league cup. The bad news is that GTBFO had money on Saints. The good news is that Hibs prevailed, and thus have another game and a cup final that nobody wants to go into 50-50's risking injury ahead of. The potentially very good news, however, is that it might have got the deal to bring Michael O'Halloran to Rangers back on track.

Tom Miller, on Rangers TV, heavily implied this was the case, and that St Johnstone would be more receptive of offers if they were to go out of the cup, and that has been the word on the street for a wee while now. Deadline day is fast approaching, but there might be a wee bit about this in the papers tonight, and we certainly wouldn't rule out one more attempt to bring him in, even with Billy King now in the side. The club seem to have expected getting a loan in even when the O'Halloran deal still looked a certainty, although from King's comments, it seems to have been a last-minute affair, so the situation is anything but clear. But the possibility is very much there.

As always, we'll keep you updated on the Rangers Transfer News hub.
