Josh Windass has finally completed his move to Wigan for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £2.5m, according to STV Sport.
The player had been linked with a move away for much of the window, and Ipswich initially had an offer accepted earlier today by Rangers.
However, Wigan soon made their move too, and they’ve been able to get their man at the last minute, tying up a deal just before the deadline closed for English clubs.
Windass got plenty of goals and assists in his time at Rangers, but he’s been in poor form at the start of this season and increasingly looks like a poor fit for the team as it is.
Still, it represents a tidy profit for Rangers, and a sell-on fee means we’ll get a cut if he does go for silly money in the English transfer market after a season or two.
Windass is the second player to leave today after Swansea confrimed the £800k signing of Declan John. Still no news on Wes Foderingham’s departure, but we’ll keep you posted.
