Goal-shy striker and castle fan Eduardo Herrera has finally left Rangers, joining Santos Laguna on loan.

The striker had reportedly held off a move as he looked to try and get a club in Europe, but it seems he’s decided to return to Mexico.

Herrera was probably intended to be our first choice striker under Pedro Caixinha, but he was quickly upstaged by Alfredo Morelos and failed to make much of an impact in Scotland.

Clearly, Herrera wasn’t good enough for us to keep in the squad for the upcoming season. But it does now leave us very light up front, particularly with Morelos’ recent struggles in front of goal.

As of yet, Rangers don’t appear to be very close to signing anyone to fill that position. Hopefully that changes soon, and we’ll let you know whenever it does. For now, cheerio big man. You were handsome and you loved going to castles.
