Steven Gerrard will bring Michael Beale, one of the most promising young coaches in the UK, with him to Rangers.
Beale has worked with academies at both Liverpool and Chelsea, and even had a stint as assistant manager at Seo Paulo in Brazil.
Responsible for bringing through plenty of young talent at all of his clubs, Rangers and Gerrard will no doubt hope he can continue to do the same for our academy, which has seen a complete transformation in recent years and is beginning to show a lot of promise.
Along with the appointment of Gary McAllister, those are the only backroom changes we currently know about. Whether there will be significant changes on that front remains to be seen, but we wouldn’t expect too much of an overhaul.
And, who knows, maybe he’ll have knowledge of a few bargain wonderkids in Brazil who fancy a stint in Govan...
