Future Rangers, Scotland and Earth captain, staunch hero, big handsome boy and generally great guy Ross McCrorie is likely to be absent from the team for a while longer, according to reports.
The ‘Four Lads Had A Dream’ blog - which has materialised recently but seems to know the script within Ibrox - states that McCrorie will be out of action for a further four weeks, with the club hoping that he won’t require surgery. If the latter scenario comes to pass, it’s possible he could miss the rest of the season.
And if you’ll excuse us, we feel that the latter scenario is actualy quite likely. Why? Well, because we’ve had several other players this season who were being monitored in the hope they wouldn’t need surgery before they had to go under the knife regardless. There may well be a feel-good vibe about Ibrox at the moment, but the medical team are certainly not a reason why.
To make matters worse, we’re unlikely to see Ryan Jack back in a Rangers shirt again this season either, so we’re desperately short of defensive midfielders. Greg Docherty showed some fine instincts in his own half in the latter part of the Hamilton game, so he might be given a shot there. Otherwise... yes, we’re going to have to put Andy Halliday there again.
Don’t have nightmares!
