Allan McGregor 6
Had very little to do, but poor distribution was a minor source of frustration.
James Tavernier 6
Delivery wasn’t up to his high standards from open play and set-pieces alike. Fine in defence.
Joe Worrall 7
Did nothing wrong. Clearances were aimless hoofs but that’s Joe Worrall. Solid in defence.
Connor Goldson 6
A pretty poor game from Goldson, who wasn’t punished for several minor unforced mistakes.
Jon Flanagan 4
Hopeless. Missed opportunities to make clear runs, lost his man down the left hand side, and was typically ineffective on the ball. Borna Barisic needs to get fit as soon as possible.
Ryan Jack 5
Recovering from injury and looked like it. Made no mistakes but had no influence over the game.
Ovie Ejaria 5
Back to his poor early season form as he continually slowed the game down when the opposite was required. Balanced out with some decent defensive work.
Lassana Coulibaly 6
Still playing below his best since his return from injury. A couple of slack passes but plenty of energy. Would have wanted to have had a bigger impact on the midfield battle.
Ryan Kent 6
Some fine work in the first half but fell off a cliff in the second. Always looked dangerous but got increasingly slack as the game wore on. Probably should’ve picked a different option than Grezda in the final moment of the game, too.
Alfredo Morelos 7
Excellent at leading the line as usual. Should’ve had an assist had Coulibaly got on the end of his fantastic ball into the box and was a constant menace to the opposition defence. A couple of slack passes but far more good than bad.
Daniel Candeias 4
Nothing worked all game. Missed a golden opportunity in the first half with a baffling decision to dink a left-footed cross instead of a simple pass or going for goal himself. Became less and less effective as the game went on and even looked a liability after getting the yellow card and failing to tone down his challenges.
Subs:
Eros Grezda 4
We’ll save our harsher judgement for when Grezda is fully up to speed but little came off for him today. His last-minute miss wasn’t a complete sitter, but he should’ve done much better.
Glenn Middleton 4
Glenn Middleton normally creates a chance every single time he touches the ball. Today he lost possession every time he touched it. A piss-poor cameo.
