Rangers have confirmed that striker Joe Dodoo has joined Charlton Athletic on loan until January 1st.

Dodoo moves to the Addicks after scoring 5 goals in 25 appearances for Rangers and told Charlton’s website he was looking forward to helping the club return to the Championship.

“I’m really pleased to join Charlton,” he said. “I can’t wait to get started and help the club’s promotion push.”

Dodoo’s short-term boss, Charlton Karl Robinson said: “We have been looking for a striker that can complement what we already have. We have a big number nine in Josh Magennis and Joe gives us something different.”

The former Leicester City forward has three years remaining on his contract and joins Andy Halliday, Harry Forrester and Michael O’Halloran on loans away from Ibrox.

After moving to Ibrox, Dodoo scored on his debut against East Stirlingshire but has struggled to make an impact in the starting XI.

Former boss Mark Warburton had been reported to be looking at reuniting with Dodoo at Nottingham Forest, however, Charlton have sealed a short-term move for the player.
