Rangers’ pursuit of Norwich midfielder Graham Dorrans has taken a step closer to completion with the clubs agreeing a fee of around £1m for the 30-year-old. The Scotland international will report to Auchenhowie for talks over personal terms and a medical over the next few days.

Dorrans started his career at Ibrox before moving along the M8 to Livingston as a teenager and making the breakthrough at Almondvale. After four years at Livi, Dorrans headed south to Premier League side West Brom, making almost 200 appearances for the Baggies, becoming a regular feature at the Hawthorns over his seven years in the Midlands. A loan spell at Norwich City was turned permanent in May 2015 but the midfielder is now set to return to Scotland as part of Pedro Caixinha’s rebuild of his Rangers squad.

Dorrans would be the ninth signing of a busy summer at Ibrox joining Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena, Dalcio Gomes, Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelos and Eduardo Herrera as the new faces in Caixinha’s side,
