Pedro Caixinha has added a third new face to his Rangers squad as the players return for pre-season training as the club confirmed the capture of Benfica winger Dalcio on a season-long loan deal.
The 21-year-old joined Benfica from Belenenses in 2015, before returning on loan, but he has yet to play for the Eagles first team. Comfortable right across the front-line or in midfield, Dalcio has represented Portugal at various youth levels and spent last season in Benfica’s B team in Portugal’s second tier.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “What attracted me was the history of the club, the size of the club, and mainly, the supporters – the amazing fans the club has. The gaffer was a real influence on me too. I know he is really competitive and ambitious, and that was the reasons I wanted to join him.
“The manager has said he is here to help me and to improve me. On the club, we need to put it on top where it belongs.”
Rangers are looking to add more new players in the next few days with Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera awaiting work permits and negotiations with Vitoria Setubal defender Fabio Cardoso continuing.
