Pedro Caixinha is close to securing the first two signings of his Rangers rebuild this week as Bruno Alves and Ryan Jack prepare to join the Gers ahead of next week’s return to training. The duo could be quickly followed by two more signings with Mexican midfielder Carlos Pena joining Graham Dorrans on the manager’s wishlist.

Aberdeen midfielder Jack is understood to have agreed a three-year deal with Caixinha’s side and is likely to be announced on Wednesday or Thursday following his Pittodrie contract expiring but, like Alves who is expected to represent his national side at next month’s FIFA Confederations Cup, may not report for preseason with his new teammates on June 5th.

Club Deportivo Guadalajara midfielder Pena will need to get approved for a work permit by the Home Office and Scottish FA before he can make his move to Glasgow official although it’s believed that the club have started the process to complete the necessary paperwork.

Scotland international Dorrans looks set to leave current club Norwich City and a move back to Scotland, and to his boyhood club, is thought to particularly appealing to the 30-year-old. The Canaries aren’t believed to be looking for too much in the way of a transfer fee so it’ll come down to the player and Rangers agreeing terms on a move after the clubs opened talks.
