Exclusive: Warburton planning Auchenhowie raid?

After resigning/not resigning back in February it look as though former Rangers boss Mark Warburton could be set to raid Rangers to add to his backroom staff at Nottingham Forest with a move for Rangers’ Academy head Craig Mulholland.

Mulholland, who has had a massive role in restructuring the youth system at Auchenhowie is very highly rated by Warburton and it’s believed he wants to take him to the City Ground to work with Forest’s youngsters, should Forest avoid relegation to League One.

According to sources (sorry, I hate that line as much as the rest of you) Graeme Murty would replace Mulholland as Academy head and the former Norwich & Southampton youth coach would have overall responsibility for the various age groups at Auchenhowie after a very impressive spell with the U20s and short stint as caretaker with the first team.

It’s also been suggested that long-time Academy coach Billy Kirkwood will be leaving the club at the end of the season but, as yet, we’ve been unable to get that confirmed.
