Bruno Alves to sign for Rangers?

Pedro Caixinha could be set to land his first signing of the Summer

Portugal v Sweden - International Friendly

According to The Sun, Portuguese defender Bruno Alves will become Pedro Caixinha’s first signing as Rangers boss ahead of Rangers’ return to European football in June.

The defender, who currently plays for Cagliari in Serie A, has another year remaining on his current contract so Rangers will need to negoiate his release before he can join Caixinha’s rebuild but it’s reported he coulmake his arrival in Glasgow as early as next week. The 35-year-old was part of Portugal’s Euro 2016-winning squad and will likely replace fellow veteran Clint Hill at the heart of the Rangers defence next season.

With Rob Kiernan looking like following Clint Hill out the door, and Swiss dud Philippe Senderos certainly leaving, there may be more reinforcement in central defence in the coming weeks.
