Rangers will have to cough up £1m in compensation to Aberdeen if they want to prise the Dons’ gaffer to Ibrox according to The Sun.

The former Rangers midfielder is one of the favourites to replace Mark Warburton although Aberdeen as desperate to keep their manager who has ‘transformed’ them from a club who wins a trophy every decade or so into a club who wins a trophy every decade or so.

It’s widely expected Alex McLeish will be announced as Rangers boss in the next week or so but it appears Stewart Milne hasn’t convinced enough Aberdeen fans he still has an interest in the club with their latest new stadium plans so has came out with this latest nonsense in a bid to curry favour.

Last time Rangers were on the lookout for a new boss Aberdeen handed McInnes and his assistant new deals which last until 2019. McInnes’ agent is likely making plans for a trip to Aberdeen with pound signs in his eyes.
