After tonight’s statement from Rangers confirming the resignation of Mark Warburton, Davie Weir and Frank McParland, Warburton was adamant he hadn’t resigned and blasted the move as ‘scandalous’. Quoted in the Daily Record, he said: “What’s going on? This is scandalous, I’ve no idea what they’re talking about.
“I haven’t resigned. I’ve never resigned — I’ve no idea what they’re talking about.
“I was advised by an email to read an urgent letter. But, I tell you, I haven’t resigned."
Graeme Murty will take charge of Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie with Morton but with Warburton insisting he is still in charge there’s much more to come from this. Rangers have yet to comment beyond the statement confirming the resignations.
The story seems to be developing pretty rapidly, and the fallout could drag on for a few days - let alone the search for a new manager. Be sure to like us on Facebook for all the latest updates as they happen.
