Graeme Murty to take interim charge after shock resignations

Rangers FC

Following tonight’s shock resignations of Mark Warburton, Davie Weir and Frank McParland Development squad head coach Graeme Murty has been put in interim charge ahead of Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie with Morton.

Murty, who joined the club over the summer to continue the work done to overhaul the youth system, came to Ibrox as a highy-regarded youth coach down south after spells with Norwich City and Southampton. The 42-year-old spent the bulk of his playing career at Reading, picking up four Scotland caps before moving into coaching in 2010.

In recent weeks Kenny MIller has been part of Murty’s technical staff as he undergoes his coaching badges and it’s likely he’ll lean on the veteran frontman as he looks to get off to a good start.
