Falkirk manager Peter Houston was reluctant to reveal his plans when quizzed whether he is making a move for Rangers’ Canadian midfielder Fraser Aird. Aird, who has spent much of 2016 with MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps has failed to make an impact on Mark Warburton and looks set to leave the club for the Championship hopefuls.

Speaking to the Bairns’ Falkirk TV Houston, when asked directly about Aird, said, “It’s no secret I feel we could do with something right-sided, a player who has a bit of pace.

“There’s options without me saying just now because there’s nothing done.

“There are options there for me to bring one player in and I’m sure before the end of the window and as quickly as we can, we’ll have that player in.”

Depite Aird being under contract at Ibrox until 2018 it’s believed Rangers would be willing to let him join the Bairns permanently.
