Joey Barton speaks about about reports of training ground bust-up

After reports this afternoon that Rangers had suspended midfielder Joey Barton after a training ground altercation on Tuesday morning, the former Burnley midfielder has released a statement to clarify what has happened:

Barton won’t be available for Saturday’s fixture at home to Ross County although he should return to training next week in time for the trip to Pittodrie.

I think it’s fair to say the whole thing has been a mountain out of a molehill. Just hours after Mark Warburton criticised the Scottish media for the negative reporting of the game.
