Garner agrees £1.8m Ibrox move

Mark Warburton will have new firepower at his disposal against Motherwell with Joe Garner on the brink of finalising a £1.8m move from Preston North End.

After receiving a bid from Rangers, Preston boss left the decision up to the player and Garner has decided to move north and help Rangers as they go for their 55th title. The 28-year-old will travel to Glasgow for a medical before putting pen to paper on a three-year-contract.

Garner has been a regular in the Preston side, scoring 57 goals in 148 appearances, and featured on Saturday for the Lilywhites. The ex-Watford man should be available to come straight into Mark Warburton’s squad and will bolster his sides striking options.
