James Tavernier has put Rangers 1-0 into the lead against Motherwell, and you can watch a video of the goal here.
Rangers started with a team consisting entirely of players from last season and mostly lived up to type, with some ridiculously bad defensive lapses and the usual failure to turn chances into goals, but Tavernier finally put the ball in the net after getting on the end of a cutback from Martyn Waghorn and taking advantage of some deep Motherwell defending, sweeping the ball majestically into the top corner, to give Rangers their first competitive goal of the season for the second year running.
