Graham Dorrans is a man often linked to a transfer to Rangers, perhaps only rivalled by Chris Brunt, but it looks as though it might actually happen this time around. Word has reached GTBFO from the club that the Norwich midfielder is a target and talks are underway.
This rumour also appears in today's Sunday Post back page, as speculation, although they might have just got it off Twitter like everybody else. It was also mentioned by one Follow Follow poster who had also gotten the Joey Barton story correct (incidentally, he also named Jason Cummings as a target.) However, we have heard the same from elsewhere, connected to the club.
Dorrans still has a year left on his deal and it would seem that Norwich would want a decent fee, but we're not party to whatever contract clauses, motivations and caveats may be at play. The rumour is well-founded and Rangers certainly believe a deal can be done.
Whether it's in addition to or an alternative to Barton isn't clear, but it looks a lot more like the former. Dorrans is a good player who will probably improve in Scotland, having toiled in a bad team for much of this season but who clearly has a lot of talent. Although at 29, he's probably older than you think, and he's arguably a bit similar to Jason Holt. He is, of course, a Bear and went to a Good School, so if you enjoy that (and GTBFO always does) then that's another positive. We'll keep you posted if we hear any more.
