Rangers' transfer window plans are getting into gear as Mark Warburton confirmed that the club are already in talks with Livingston over signing their prodigious youngster Matthew Knox.
Knox, also a rumoured target for Manchester United, played in Livingston's recent victory over Rangers and provided the assist for the only goal of the game with a superb cross. Having seen more of the player up close, it appears Warburton is determined to get his man.
Warburton said: "Matthew is a talented young player, there's talks going on obviously. As a club we have to make sure we get the best young talents and bring them in. We have to look to get the best possible player available throughout the age groups."
Yet Livingston boss David Hopkin has also stated that he wishes to keep Knox at the club for two more years and will "fight tooth and nail" not to lose the youngster.
Knox seems like a pretty great talent, and Rangers seems an ideal place for him to come to, with a clear path to the first team and no need to leave his family at such a young age. Not a bad surname, either. Get it done.
