Only ONE Rangers player is in the league's top 25 most effective attackers

Rangers have only a solitary player in the top 25 most productive players in the league in terms of goals and assists.

Occasional GTBFO writer Dougie Wright looked at the stats today, and the results were pretty sobering - the list contains such dazzling, gifted luminaries as, er, Steven MacLean (christ), Scott McDonald (ugh), and Lonsana Doumbouya (eh? Who?)

Kenny Miller was the only Rangers player to get there. A thirty-six year-old man.

We should point out the slight caveat here that the list is solely for players who have played 500 minutes or longer, so Joe Garner isn't included and would otherwise make the list, although while he's scored some goals, he's hardly set the world on fire and still looks out of place in the system.

Whether this means that the players are bad in themselves or are simply playing badly is open to debate, but it's a pretty damning statistic.
