Rangers' January transfer window is continuing apace - having already signed up Harry Forrester and Maciej Gostomski, and completed contract deals for the summer with Josh Windass and Matt Crooks, it now looks as though we might be getting another player very soon.
The man in question is Brentford's Toumani Diagouraga. We were linked to the Frenchman in the summer, although no bid materialised. A variety of sources, from the Press Association to the Daily Record, are now reporting our pursuit and the latter claim that two bids have been rejected, with a third tabled and an agreement looking likely.
As for the man in question, Diagouraga is billed as a tough, disciplined defensive midfielder. The Record also posted the following video, featuring a lovely bit of skill and the commentary "even Messi couldn't do that", adopted as the headline seemingly with the sole intention of provoking a thousand "Sevco sign a player and all of a sudden he's better than Messi! Enjoy the Level 5 PR money much?" comments. You can see that here:
Hopefully, unlike Messi, he'll be able to do it on a wet Wednesday in Alloa.
