Rangers youngster heads out on loan to Dumbarton

Tom Walsh, one of very, very few bright spots from last season, has been loaned out to Dumbarton for the rest of the season.

The player announced the move himself over Twitter, and will try and force his way back into Mark Warburton's plans after finding minutes hard to come by this season.

Warburton has namechecked Walsh once or twice over the season as an example of the work the academy is doing, but we always feared that he stood out last season simply because he had a bit of pace and energy in a team that was so old and lethargic. It'll be interesting to see what he can do with some proper game time under his belt, and with Harry Forrester coming in, it was always going to be hard to see him getting much time on the pitch for the rest of this campaign.
